June Highlights: Two Special Events to Celebrate Our Clients

In June, BC SoftWear had the pleasure of hosting two very special client appreciation events, each designed to say thank you to the people who make what we do possible. From the excitement of Royal Windsor Racecourse in England to the calming surroundings of Ireland’s Co. Wicklow countryside, both gatherings reflected the strong partnerships and shared values that define the BC SoftWear community.
A Night at Royal Windsor Racecourse
On a sunny evening in June, BC SoftWear hosted 50 clients and industry friends at England's Royal Windsor Racecourse in a private suite overlooking the action, alongside partners Regency and Empire Laundries. The event saw customers treated to a three-course meal followed by a flutter on the horses, plus a special trip down to the start line to see the horses before the final race.
“Events such as this are a celebration of the strong partnerships we’ve built over the years and a way for our customers to connect and share industry insights in a relaxed, informal setting,” says BC SoftWear’s founder Barbara Cooke. “From the buzz of the racecourse to the serenity of the countryside, both gatherings captured the spirit of community and collaboration that defines us at BC SoftWear. It was a pleasure to catch up with our customers away from busy inboxes and enjoy some well-earned time out together.”
The Gathering: A Wellness-Focused Day Retreat
In Ireland, in partnership with GROUND Wellbeing, BC SoftWear also welcomed 50 guests to The Gathering at the beautiful Deerstone Luxury Eco Hideaway in Co. Wicklow in June. The event was centred around the theme of gratitude.
Guests were treated to a conversation with GROUND Wellbeing founder Peigín Crowley, who shared her story of founding GROUND and building the brand from scratch from her kitchen table during the Covid-19 pandemic. Peigín talked about resilience, managing stress and the importance of tuning into both body and mind, particularly the brain-gut connection. She was joined on stage by wellness pioneer and founder of skincare brand ESPA, Sue Harmsworth. A true spa icon, Sue offered her perspective on how the spa, wellness and hospitality sectors have evolved since she started working in the industry in the 1970s. Together, Peigín and Sue explored how the wellness movement has, in many ways, come full circle, with holistic approaches and hands-on healing now returning to the forefront of spa culture — echoing methods from the beginnings of the industry in the '70s.
“We at GROUND Wellbeing were delighted to connect with our hotel partners in the loveliest setting, to share our hospitality vision for the future with the very brilliant Sue Harmsworth,” says Peigín. “We’re forever grateful to have heard about Sue’s incredible journey through her years working in wellness.”
“With Deerstone set in the heart of nature, the day was designed to offer a slower pace for guests, with time and space for reflection and a grounding nature-based activity to help remind us all why slowing down together matters,” adds Cooke. “It was also a way for both brands to show our deep appreciation to the spa and hospitality communities who have supported us through the years. The Gathering was a gentle pause from the fast pace of our industry — a moment to breathe, share and recharge.”
Guests were also treated to a surprise appearance by comedian Rauiri McInerney, who brought many laughs by posing as a fictional hotel and spa owner. “Rauiri’s appearance was a joyful reminder of the power of humour and community; something we don’t always prioritise in our busy professional lives,” adds Cooke.
