Behind the Scenes with Our In-House Embroidery Team

At BC SoftWear, we pride ourselves on offering something unique: a dedicated in-house embroidery team based at our head office in Maidenhead. This means we can oversee the finer details of our embroidery, ensuring impeccable quality every time. For larger or highly bespoke orders — such as intricate logo placements — we collaborate with our trusted partners in Turkey, who help us deliver flawless finishes on every piece.

Turning Luxury Textiles into Stitched Artistry

Our talented embroidery team can bring any design to life, transforming luxury towels, bathrobes, blankets, ponchos, spa linens, duvet covers, and pillowcases into works of art. We even offer embroidery on slippers, completed with the help of our extended production partners.

Meet Chloe Leaver

Chloe has been part of our embroidery team for three years. She shares insights into what makes our embroidery service so special:

“We’re set up to handle everything from subtle monograms to intricate logos,” says Chloe. “There’s the option to select from seven different font styles, so brands can choose something that reflects their identity, or they can opt for their logo. We have access to over 1,000 thread colours and can match any Pantone reference — we really do have every colour in every shade. There’s an entire wall in the embroidery room dedicated to thread.”

Our two in-house embroidery machines — a single head and a four-head — allow us to manage orders of any size.

“Each logo requires a different number of stitches. Some detailed designs use more than 35,000 stitches and can take over an hour to embroider. On an average day, we embroider more than 150 robes. If a robe design has between 3,000 and 5,000 stitches, it takes about six minutes per robe.”

Deeply Detailed, Fully Personalised

“We can really personalise to achieve what customers want — the possibilities are endless,” Chloe explains. “We’ve created everything from one-off bespoke pieces for weddings or anniversaries to large orders of hundreds of face cloths, hand towels, and robes.

“Because everything is done by hand in-house, we can accommodate any logo placement: left breast, across the back of a robe, or top centre of a blanket — it’s entirely up to the customer.”

When it comes to technique, Chloe highlights the importance of stitch choice:

“We use two styles: satin and step satin. Step satin offers a tighter stitch, ideal for larger logos like those on the backs of robes or blankets. Satin is better suited for smaller logos. Depending on the fabric and logo size, we often add a backing by hand. This attention to detail is what sets us apart. It’s about more than logos or names — it’s about helping brands tell their story and create lasting memories for their customers.”

Sustainably Better

Quality is only part of the story. At BC SoftWear, sustainability is equally important. That’s why we use Madeira’s Polyneon Green embroidery threads, made from 100% recycled post-consumer PET plastic bottles.

Produced in Germany, Polyneon Green threads give plastic waste a second life. The PET bottles are shredded, melted, and extruded into fibres, which are spun into durable, high-quality thread — all without creating new waste.
